Description
Product details
This form of activated carbons are manufactured from wood saw dust. The porous structure of chemically activated carbons have high developed macroporosity (large size pores) and to a much smaller extent mesoporosity. The chemically activated carbon made from saw dust produces activated carbon with an acidic pH. Manufacturing process: The finely pulverized saw dust is saturated with concentrated phosphoric acid. It is than taken out dried and heated to 600°C in a rotary kiln. The activation takes place as the phosphoric acid evaporates from the saw dust. These leads to the opening of the pores which increases the surface area of the carbon. Products obtained by fermentation processes can be purified using chemically activated carbons. It is specifically used in the purification of starch, glucose and sugar. Applications of Chemically Activated Carbon Powder : It is used in decolorisation of liquids having impurities with larger pore size i.e. Sugar Solutions, Glucose, Dextrose, Lactose & other starch sugar solution. Used in decolorisation of vegetable oils and fats and herbal products For Specifications, Please Click on Below Link http://aurocarbon.in/pages/technical-specification-of-chemically-activated-carbon/5af42351c2b8900cc4fdc967 Bleach activators are compounds that allow a lower washing temperature than it would be required otherwise to achieve the full activity of bleaching agents in the wash liquor. Bleaching agents, usually peroxides, are usually sufficiently active only from 60 °C on. With bleach activators, this activity can already be achieved at lower temperatures. Bleach activators react with hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution to form peroxy acids, they are a component of most laundry detergents. Peroxy acids are more active bleaches than hydrogen peroxide at lower temperatures (<60 °C) but are too unstable to be stored in their active form and hence must be generated in situ.

![Our Powder activated carbon is manufactured using pure pine wood which is an excellent base for manufacturing activated carbons with good adsorption power.
The steam activated process is done by activating the charcoal in a rotary kiln by heating at high temperatures by steam. The activated carbon that comes out from the kiln is called unwashed activated carbon. These unwashed activated carbon has higher ash and iron content. This is reduced by washing the unwashed activated carbon with acid (HCl / H2SO4) and purified water. This results in the reduction of ash content to as low as 1% and iron as low as 50 ppm.
The gradation of different qualities of activated carbon is done on the basis of Methylene blue value and iodine value. The iodine value is a better test as the particle size of iodine molecule is small enough to penetrate the smallest of pores. We can relate the iodine value of activated carbon directly to its surface area because of the above fact.
Activated carbon
Activated carbon, also called activated charcoal, is a form of carbon processed to have small, low-volume pores that increase the surface area available for adsorption or chemical reactions.[1] Activated is sometimes substituted with active.
Due to its high degree of microporosity, one gram of activated carbon has a surface area in excess of 3,000 m2 (32,000 sq ft),[2] as determined by gas adsorption.[3] An activation level sufficient for useful application may be attained solely from high surface area. Further chemical treatment often enhances adsorption properties.

Steam activated carbons are produced in a two-stage process. ...The first step is carbonization in which the raw material is burnt in the absence of air. The carbonized product is activated with steam at a temperature between 900C and 1100C. The chemical reaction between the carbon and steam takes place at the internal surface of the carbon, removing carbon from the pore walls and thereby enlarging the pores.
